Hi, I'm John. I'm a jeweler with over 17 years of experience in the industry. In the past, I've worked on countless pieces of fine jewelry, from antique family heirlooms to engagement rings of all shapes and sizes.
I started Starlight and Gleam so I could combine my love of space with my skills as a jeweler. Many of the designs you see here are available in acrylic, but I can make nearly any of these pieces in a precious metal of your choice. I have extensive experience working in Platinum, Gold, and Silver. I have a personal studio in Wichita, KS, where I do much of my work. I also belong to Make ICT, a fantastic makerspace with the tools and machines I don't have room for in my workshop.
In addition to being a jeweler, I'm a big podcast nut, and I love creating digital content. So in 2017, I started The Space Shot, a daily space history, news, and pop culture podcast. Since that first season, I've scaled back the frequency of episodes, but my love of aerospace history, news, and pop culture remains. I'm also lucky enough to volunteer at the Cosmosphere, a Smithsonian-Affiliate museum in Hutchinson, Kansas. My work includes hosting and editing their podcast and creating social media posts covering space history and news.
Please contact me with any inquiries if you are interested in working with me on a digital or physical project. I'm happy to answer any questions relating to my work. As I say on my podcast, I'll catch you on the flip side.
